The CologneAMS facility, center for accelerator mass spectrometry, was funded in 2010 when a new 6 MV high-performance AMS was installed at the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the University of Cologne. The AMS system was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the funding programme 'Major Instrumentation'. The preparation of samples and standards for in-house analysis and external users of the facility is done by the working groups of Prof. Rethemeyer (14C) and Prof. Dunai (10Be, 26Al, 36Cl) at the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy. Analysis also include further cosmogenic nuclides, such as 41Ca, 129I and heavy ions up to 236U and 244Pu.
